Description

The 762mm rocket provided toxic chemical offensive capability. The M190 was designed to provide a capability for the delivery of nonpersistent GB by the 762mm (Honest John) rocket system.

This concept was known as the quadrant warhead design and consisted of partitioning the missile nose cone casing into four longitudinal quadrants within which bomblets were packed. The warhead casing was made of an aluminum alloy sheet and was reinforced with internal structural members. A conical wedge was provided at the rear end of the warhead to assist in effecting clean ejection of the bomblets.
