
The designations for these mines were originally reversed, i.e., the No. 4 mine was referred to as the No. 8 mine, and the No. 8 mine was referred to as the No. 4 mine. The current designations, as shown are believed to be correct. These are dual-purpose mines, antitank/antipersonnel (AT/Apers), that use a pull- or pressure-actuated fuze.
The No. 4 mine is painted black or coated with a creosote-like compound. The No. 8 paintings are unknown.
