
These are modified 73mm shaped charge antitank grenades. Model 1953 is a pair coupled by a detonating cord and fired by an offset device or a “trigger" mine. Model 1954 is a single grenade with a tiltrod fuze. Both models are considered powerful enough to penetrate 4" of armor from a 23" standoff, firing through 2" camouflage cover.
Both models are used to penetrate belly plates of armored vehicles.
