
Burster AN-M18 is essentially a cylindrical plastic body filled with an explosive filler, consisting of 250 grams of black powder. One end of the body is closed by a metal or plastic plug; the other end, by a plug assembly which consists of a thin walled metal cup inserted in a metal cup holder. The end of the cup holder is hexagonal and forms a shoulder by which the burster is held in position in the bomb. Burster M18 is used in smoke bombs AN-M47A3 and AN-M47A4 when these bombs are filled with WP.
