Description

Base Detonating Fuze M58 Practice is used with target practice cartridges for 37mm subcaliber guns.

The fuze has a brass or steel body containing the firing pin and a spring-loaded sleeve assembly. A resistance ring holds the tiring pin at the rear of the sleeve and away from the detonator prior to firing; there are no bore-safety provisions or external safety devices. The detonator is housed in a brass detonator holder forward of the firing pin. A brass or steel cap and aluminum washer close the forward end of the fuze. A hole is provided in the closing cap to allow detonator flash through.
