These are separate loaded, spin stabilized, illuminating projectiles containing base ejected, parachute suspended, illuminant charges.
The S-463 is painted dark gray except for the bourrelets and rotating band, which are unpainted. The projectile has a white band painted around the body behind the forward bourrelet, black stenciled markings give identification and manufacturing information.
