
HEAT-T cartridge M324 is employed against armored targets.
This cartridge has a projectile consisting of a boattailed steel body fitted with a pre-engraved gilding metal rotating band, two indexing buttons and a steel windshield. The projectile is loaded with 3.06 pounds of Composition B around a conical copper liner. The liner and windshield are held in place by a threaded steel adapter. The projectile base is fitted with a BD fuze which contains an integral tracer. The steel cartridge case, which is crimped to the projectile, contains a propelling charge protected by a rayon and plastic liner and a press fitted percussion primer.
